Remarks:
The statue is symbolic of the early settlement in Carlton County. It also serves to represent the entrance to the Voyaguer's Highway (Highway 53). The sculpture previously stood on Highway 33 adjacent to the Cloquet Chamber of Commerce building but was moved when the Hardee's restaurant expanded. IAS files contain an article entitled "Statue Awaits Resting Place" from Pine Knot dated October 24, 1991.
