    Description: 
    A Civil War soldier in uniform stands at parade rest, holding the barrel of his rifle, the butt of which rests by his feet. The soldier wears a visored cap, a cape, and a knee-length coat. The soldier is mounted upon a tall, column-like, multitiered base with a cornice at the top that includes a relief on the front of a badge of courage with an eagle over a shield. On the back of the base is a relief of an anchor. On one side of the base is a relief of crossed swords, and on the other side is crossed rifles. The lower front of the base is inscribed and two cannon barrels lay beneath the inscription in an inverted "V" shape.
