    Description: 
    Two figures in high relief are located in a niche on the fifth floor of a former lodge. The figures flank a window in an archway above the main door of the lodge. The figures are in Roman dress and depict the namesakes of the former lodge. The figure on the left wears a helmet. He holds a sword across his chest with his proper right hand. His proper left hand holds a shield across his chest. His head is turned to the proper right. The figure to his right is dressed in Roman toga, with his proper right hand down at his side, and his proper left arm bent across his waist, left hand holding a scroll.

    Remarks: 
    These sculptures are located on a building built by the Elkana lodge, Knights of Pythias. The figures depict the namesakes of the now defunct lodge. The building is now a health facility. IAS files contain a related article from Charleston Gazette (Charleston, WV), Nov. 11, 1921, pg. 10 which describes the construction of the building.
