    Description: 
    A standing figure of Mary, set into a miniature grotto of stone and shielded by a pane of glass set in a bronze frame and mortared to the face of the stone. Below the figure, flanking it on either side are two semi-circular terraces made of cut natural stone from the site.

    Located Approximately 7/10 miles from end of paved road (Dewey Place) on right side of dirt road on a hillock predominated with rock outcroppings and small oak trees, Campo, California
    Remarks: 
    Done by Italian prisoners of war interned during World War II at Camp Lockett in Campo. The ceramic figure contained within the shrine was donated by Miss Goodbody. Dedicated and blessed by Father John B. Garrone of the San Diego Diocese of the Catholic Church, on October 17, 1944. The stone for the sculpture was quarried at the immediate site by the P.O.W's.
