A large fieldstone arch with a figure of a Confederate and World War I soldier flanking it, each with their own base. The Confederate soldier faces west and stands gripping a rifle with both hands. He has a moustache and wears a wide-brimmed hat, with perhaps a bayonet on his proper left hip. The World War I soldier faces east and stands with a rifle in the crook of his proper right arm, his proper left hand on his hip. He wears a wide-brimmed, angled hat, open-collared shirt with sleeves rolled to the elbow, and boots. Each soldier is depicted as an older man. Each figure has a small, inscribed plaque on the front of its self-base, and is mounted upon a tall base with a plaque. Inside the arch, as well as at the top of two sides of the arch, there is an inscribed plaque.
