Description:
World War II soldier in military uniform, including helmet and boots. Around his waist is an ammunition belt. His proper left arm hangs along his side, while the proper right arm is bent up against his shoulder, and grasps the strap of a gun. The gun is on his backside, vertical with the barrel pointing upward. His head faces the ground.

Source states that media is concrete but also noted that it was, at some point, referred to as cast stone. Funds raised by a War Memorial Committee, with assistance from various town groups and donations from Brookport, Metropolis, and Paducah residents.
