    Description: 
    An eagle stands perched with its wings outstretched, mounted atop a tall pedestal with plaque. The pedestal is surrounded at the bottom by tiles embedded with three eight-by-ten inch plaques on two of the four sides of the monument. The monument has a short border around it, with sixty-eight bronze plaques embedded in the ceramic tiles in the walkway surrounding it.
