    (On front of base:) ERECTED BY THE W.C.T.U./OF/BLOCK ISLAND. RHODE ISLAND/JULY 22, 1896 (On north side of base:) FOR GOD AND HOME AND EVERY LAND unsigned Founder's mark appears.
    Description: 
    Standing atop a square fountain base is a female figure holding a water jug in her hands. She is dressed in Classical robes and her hair is coiled in a braid adorned with garlands of grapes. The ornate fountain base is adorned with three small drinking fountain basins.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture, erected by the Women's Christian Temperance Union (W.C.T.U.) in 1896, was deeded to the Town of New Shoreham in 1939. The sculpture was erected at a cost of between $1,000 and $1,500. The sculpture is nearly identical to J. W. Fiske Iron Works catalog item #408D with modified horse basin #419D.
