Remarks:
The figure of Paul Bunyon was done by Cyril M. Dickenson; Babe the Blue Ox was done by Jim Payton. The figure of Babe was used in parades and winter carnivals for two years prior to its being permanently installed at the site. The "touring" Babe was made of wood, wire and canvas. His horns were tin and his eyes were made of automobile lights. IAS files contain related excerpt from Moira Harris' "Monumental Minnesota," Pogo Press, 1992, pg. 61-62.
