    Remarks:
Gift of the Loveland Board of Realtors to replace a copper Liberty replica (IAS record CO0000355) which was dedicated by the Boy Scouts, Longs Peak Council, in 1950. John and Mike Paul built the base. A time capsule buried in the base to be opened July 4, 1975 was not recovered; and the plaque was stolen. In 1985, the Make America Better Committee suggested replacing the copper statue with a more durable bronze. The Loveland Board of Realtors raised $4,000 for the replacement, but were met with opposition from the Loveland Cosmopolitan Club, who had contributed to the original installation. Carl Patterson of the Rocky Mountain Regional Conservation Center examined the sculpture in June 1985 and concluded that it would need to be replaced, as it would not withstand the outdoor elements for long. The copper sculpture was moved to the Ben Delatour Ranch for Boy Scouts in Fort Collins, Colorado. A plaque to acknowledge the replacement was dedicated in July 1986. IAS files contain related articles from the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald.
