Description:
Multi-colored sculpture is an abstract representation of birds flying over marshland. There are wave and foliage shapes at the bottom and tear-drop and oval shapes at the top as the ascending birds. Colors include yellow, pink, green, blue, black and white. The base of the sculpture is painted blue and the whole work stands on a low, rectangular base.

Remarks:
Commissioned by the Mercy-Memorial Medical Center for $15,000 as part of a physical consolidation construction project which resulted from the merger between Memorial Hospital of St. Joseph and Mercy Hospital of Benton Harbor. IAS files contain a call for proposals from the Hospital. In 1977, the sculpture was repainted by employees of the hospital, in consultation with the artist. Conservation:
Treated 1998. Lakeland Medical Center grounds staff (St. Joseph, MI). Treatment report on file with the Krasl Art Center (St. Joseph, MI).
