    Remarks: 
    Monument commemorates Civil War soldiers. It was dedicated in October 1897 and was originally topped by actual cannons used at Port Royal (North Carolina), donated by the government to GAR Posts 114 and 442. The original cannons were used for munitions metal in World War II, and this replica cannon was added around 1945.
