Description:
Standing figures of Father Michael J. McGivney with young African-American boy in front of him. Father McGivney's proper left hand rests on the boy's head; his proper right hand rests on the boy's shoulder. Father McGivney wears a priest's cassock and round collar. The boy wears a 6-button frock coat and leggings and has Afro-style hair. The sculpture is situated in a rock garden, with four pink granite tablets at the corners.

Remarks:
Father McGivney was founder of the Knights of Columbus. He established the organization in Hartford, Connecticut, on March 29, 1889, with 12 men.
Commissioned by Texas State Council, Knights of Columbus under the administration of the State Deputy and Executive Secretary. Funded entirely by member/local council donation.
