The sculpture was commissioned in 1992 by the Kentucky Medical Service Foundation for the Kentucky Clinic on South Limestone Street. At the time of the SOS! survey, the sculpture was in storage due to construction work at the clinic. IAS files contain related articles from the Herald-Leader (Lexington, KY), Dec. 25, 1994, pg. F1, F3; and Ace Magazine (Jan. 1995).
