Two farriers in the process of shoeing the back foot of a horse. One figure supports horse's proper right rear hoof in a sling while second farrier shoes it with tongs and hammer. Both men wear unbuttoned vests, shirts with sleeves rolled up, and long (ankle-length) work aprons; tool box and anvil to either side of figures. Horse stands with front legs spread wide apart, proper right foot placed forward, and head held high, looking straight head.
