    3 tympana. Each: approx. 33 x 81 x 24 in.
    Description: 
    Three bas-reliefs each located in a lunette above a door. Each scene is a variation on the theme of an allegorical female figure kneeling with two children, one male, one female. The allegorical figure is passing on knowledge to the children. The first tympanum on the left represents the visual arts, using a palette and a Greek amphora as symbols. The center tympanum contains a burning lamp of knowledge, a lute and books. The final tympanum represents science, identified by a globe, hourglass and books.
