Description:
Abstract sculpture of a chariot-like vehicle that makes reference to fire trucks of old and their unsteady nature. Smoke billows out of the funnel, with wheels unbalanced, as if racing over uneven terrain. A painted "skirt" covers the step where the firemen and driver might have stood. The Three Graces appear imprinted on the north side of the skirt. Just in front of the most vertical element of the chariot is a sphere that once held an eagle, now missing. The sculpture is mounted on a short, square shaft, set upon a square base.
