John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, 10900 S. R. 703 (AIA), North Palm Beach, Florida 33408
    Remarks:
John D. MacArthur, 1897-1978, was the previous owner of the property upon which the park and his bust are located. In the 1970's, after a university survey of his property convinced him that it was a biological treasure house, he donated a section for use as a public park. The state began managing it in 1981. The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation of Chicago contributed additional money to develop the park and nature center. Mr. MacArthur was in the insurance business, and a Palm Beach Gardens land developer.
