When the monument was erected there were 66 soldier's names inscribed on the base. The other names have been added over time. IAS files contain a related excerpt from Maurice J. Warner's "Civil War Memorials Erected in the State of Maine," Augusta, ME: Maine Civil War Centennial Commission, 1965.
