(On front of base, incised:) THOMAS JEFFERSON/1743-1826 signed Founder's mark appears. Description:  Standing bronze statue of Thomas Jefferson wearing breeches, ruffled shirt, vest, coat, and buckle shoes. In his proper left hand and arm he holds a quill and papers. The plinth is decorated with reliefs of stars. Statue is mounted on top of a granite base.
