    Description: 
    The plaza in front of James Center One contains a massive bronze composition of three nude muscular male figures pulling on lines that hoist three sails attached to a fifty foot mast. At the base of the mast are two smooth brick and granite discs representing the tilt of a rocking deck and the plunge of a hull as it cuts through the ocean. Below the base is a pool of water and curving steps that represent the ocean.

    The figures were cast by Tallix and the sails were cast by Cavalier Renaissance Foundry. Aleksandra Kasuba created the brick and granite base. IAS files contain a newspaper article from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Oct. 26, 1986, pg. H21 and a Faison Associates press release.
