Inscription:  (At bottom:) White 82; (Around center of medallion:) INDIANA STATE BOARD OF HEALTH/EST 1881 FIAT LUX signed Description:  Circular medallion consisting of doughnut-like frieze surrounding a ring of lettering, which in turn surrounds a center disk, in the middle of which is an enclosed elliptical bubble containing a metal figure of an infant. The frieze is a collage of faces, instruments and symbols, including a microscope and beakers, a heart with a stethoscope, a grouping of foods, a mother and baby, reaching hands and more.
