CORNELIUS AHEARN (On bottom tier of base, incised letters:)"COMMEMORATION OF/THE MARION YEAR 1987-1988/AND IN APPRECIATION TO/REV. MSGR. EUGENE A MURPHY" unsigned Founder's mark appears.
    Description: 
    Mary stands barefoot, wearing robes and a veil with her hands slightly extended and palms facing outward. She stands atop a hemisphere and steps on the head of a snake with her proper right foot. The snake's tail protrudes from under Mary's robes to her proper left. The hemisphere has two horns protruding from either side. The sculpture is mounted on a two-tiered square base.

    Remarks: 
    The figure cost $2,500. The sculpture's mold was made from an Italian wood carving. The sculpture was supplied by Tally Goods Church. A finger on the proper left hand broke off and has since been reattached.
