    Description: 
    A portrait bust of former Fort Wayne City Councilman John Nuckols. Nuckols is dressed in a three-piece suit and wears his hair close-cropped. The bust is mounted upon a rectangular base with one bottom step.

    Remarks: 
    The bust was installed by the John Nuckols Memorial Organization in honor of John Nuckols, Fort Wayne's first African-American city councilman. Nuckols served on the city council for twenty-three years. He was president of the city council in 1972, 1977, and 1981. IAS files contain a dedication booklet.
