Description:
A uniformed World War I soldier stands at parade rest holding the barrel of his rifle with his proper left hand, the butt of which rests on the ground. The soldier's proper right hand rests on his waist. He wears a wide-brimmed hat, a jacket with an open collar, sleeves rolled up above the elbows, and leggings. He has a musette bag hanging from his ammunition belt and a sword or perhaps a bayonet which protrudes from under the bag. The soldier stands on a tall, multitiered, inscribed, shaft-like base with an emblem or seal close to the top. The lower section of the base has two flanking smaller sections with a flower urn on each, and is mounted upon a wider tier. There are three concentric rings of burial plots of soldiers who served in World War I surrounding the monument.

Remarks:
Gift of William Horlick, in honor of the men and women of Racine who served in World War I. Dedicated on Memorial Day, 1926. The figure was pulled from its base ca. 1983/1985 and its neck was broken. It was repaired and remounted.
