Description:
A standing portrait of General Peter Gansevoort dressed in his Revolutionary War uniform. In his proper left hand he holds a sword and in his proper right hand he holds a small book or map. The sculpture stands atop a square base that is adorned with carvings of fasces, the Roman symbol of power.
