TO COMMEMORATE THIS SIGNIFICANT MARK IN HISTORY, SCULPTORS JACK A. BRYANT AND CYNTHIA BRYANT, CREATED THIS IMAGE OF A FIREFIGHTER. THE TEAR SYMBOLIZES THE LOSS OF THOSE...WHO WERE UNABLE TO BE SAVED AND THE FIREFIGHTERS WHO HAVE DIED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. THE INFANT SIGNIFIES THE FUTURE, FOR WHICH FIREFIGHTERS DAILY MUSTER THEIR COURAGE, PRIDE AND SPIRIT IN THIS REMARKABLE PROFESSION signed Founder's mark appears.
    Description: 
    Near life-size male figure of a firefighter. He is dressed in uniform and wears a helmet and oxygen tank on his back. In his arms he holds a blanket-wrapped infant. The bronze sculpture stands on a brick and mortar base with cement corners.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was installed in honor of the 100th anniversary of professional firefighting in the city. The sculpture was funded by individuals who purchased miniature bronze replicas of the sculpture. The replicas were sold by The Friends of the Fort Worth Firefighters. IAS files contain copies of related articles from Fort Worth Star-Telegraph, Oct. 26, and Nov. 1, 1993.
