Description:
Memorial consisting of a square column of limestone and brick topped by a limestone cross. Text is inscribed in the limestone. The memorial stands on a square limestone plaza.

Remarks:
The monument commemorates John Wesley's landing on Peeper's Island in Georgia in 1736. Wesley was the third minister of the Established Church of the Colony. A nearby plaque gives a brief history of Wesley's time in Georgia. IAS files contain related article from Savannah Morning News, Nov. 10, 1950.
