MEIGS, BY HENRY VARNUM POORE/IS CONSTRUCTED OF BRICKS FROM HER HOME IN/WASHINGTON, D.C. FT. HUNTER IS MAINTAINED/AND PRESERVED THROUGH THE FORESIGHT OF/MRS. MEIGS AND THE GENEROUS GIFT OF THE/PROPERTY BY HER FAMILY TO THE COUNTY/OF DAUPHIN unsigned Description:  A small, red brick grotto with a tile roof and a recessed area lined with twelve blue tiles depicting wildlife, flowers and vegetables. A metal shell-shaped basin is inside the recessed area.
