    A commemorative plaque with a bust portrait of Major Andrew Hunter Holmes in relief in a circle at the top of the plaque. The plaque is mounted on a rough-hewn marker.

    Remarks: 
    Major Andrew Hunter Holmes was killed in the battle of Mackinac Island on Aug. 4, 1814. The plaque was placed as part of the restoration of the Fort by the Mackinac Island State Park Commission.
