Remarks:
The sculpture was vandalized several times in the 1970s and after being toppled in 1979 was placed in vault storage at the cemetery. In 1989 the sculpture was removed from storage and restored. Restoration work was done by Luigi De Dominicis. Restoration work included cleaning the sculpture, adding bolts to mount the sculpture to the base, and installing the wrought iron fence around the monument. Restoration of the sculpture was initiated by the Beacon Historical Society.
