    Full-length female figure of Justice. She wears long robes and is blindfolded. She holds a scale in her proper left hand and a sword in her proper right hand. The scale swings on metal chains. The figure is made of pine.

    Formerly located Exeter Town Hall, Front and Water Streets, Exeter, New Hampshire 1855 (?) - 1991.
    Remarks: 
    Conflicting dates list the installation of the sculpture atop the town hall as 1855 and 1867. The sculpture, which sat originally stood atop the cupola of the town hall, was badly damaged by a 1991 hurricane. It was removed from the town hall, and is being stored at the Historical Society. A reproduction of the original sculpture has been installed on the town hall (see IAS NH000316). IAS files contain copy of related material from Nancy Merrill's "Exeter New Hampshire", Portsmouth, NH: 1988, pg. 122; and copy of related article from Exeter News-Letter, July 31, 1992.
