Description:
Three full-length figures of a man, woman and child. They stand in a single file line in this order, with the man at the back. The family appears to be dancing or playing; their positions suggest graceful movements.

Remarks:
Commissioned by the Commerce Trust Company for use a fountain. The sculpture remained part of a fountain until 1973, when it was dismantled because of water leakage on the property. The sculpture was kept in storage until 1989 when it was reinstalled as a free standing statue in its present location. Piece was cast by James Wenkie at the University of Kansas City foundry. IAS files include an excerpt from the book, "Fountains of Kansas City;" and an article from the Kansas City Star, Oct. 23, 1961 and the Kansas City Times, Sept. 21, 1989. Sources include photographs of piece as a fountain.
