    Remarks: 
    Ernie R. Davis (1939-1963) was the first African American to receive the Heisman Trophy while a student at Syracuse University. Martin Harrigan was Ernie's coach and mentor who conceived of the idea to raise a memorial to Ernie. IAS files contain detailed dimensions of the sculpture and base.
