Remarks:
The stations of the cross were a gift from the Cartalemi family. Monsignor Hilary C. Franco, pastor of St. Augustine Church, had the original concept for the project. The relief panels were created in Castelli, Italy by the artist. Father and son, Pasquale and Kenneth Cartalemi, built the brick enclosures for the relief panels. Kenneth Cartalemi designed the grounds. Nearby plaque reads: IN MEMORY OF/OUR BELOVED MOTHERS/DEDICATED BY/MR. PASQUALE CARTALEMI, SR./&/KENNETH AND MARIA CARTALEMI/BLESSED BY/CARDINAL JOHN J. O'CONNOR/MARCH 21, 1997 MSGR. HILARY C. FRANCO/PASTOR. IAS files contain the catalog titled, "Nino Di Simone," and a related article from Catholic New York, March 27, 1997, pg. 22-23.
