    William H. G. France (1909-1992) and his wife Anne Bledsoe France (1906-1992) are depicted standing side by side. William France wears glasses, a cap, bolo tie, and a sport coat. His proper left arm is around his wife's shoulder. Anne Bledsoe France has short curly hair and glasses.

    Remarks: 
    William H. G. France (known as "Big Bill") and his wife, Anne Bledsoe France (known as "Annie B.") were the guiding forces behind the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) and the Daytona International Speedway, as well as the Talladegra (Alabama) Superspeedway. William France was a mechanic and driver in the mid-1930s and became the founder and president of NASCAR, which began in 1947. He conceived and built the Daytona International Speedway, which opened in 1959. Anne France was the original treasurer for NASCAR, and became secretary and treasurer for the Daytona International Speedway. She was also a vice-president and director of NASCAR.
