(On plaque in front of sculpture:) EIDOLA/EIDOLA is a series of material forms/and opposing directional forces in/dynamic tension around a central,/still point rendered unsubstantial by/the reflective surface, allowing for/environmental integration. The balance of/contrasting elements refers to the/infinite and eternal round of conflict/and unity/in all aspects of existence/artist Jon Barlow Hudson.
A modified version of this sculpture, entitled Eidola II, was executed for the Unlia Tower, Jakarta, Indonesia in 1991. IAS files contain copy of article from Dayton Daily News, Oct. 21, 1983 and the Journal-Herald (Dayton, OH), Dec. 31, 1983.
