Description:
A Confederate infantryman stands, resting against his rifle, at his side, a sword strapped to his proper left hip. Behind him is a cannon and a shot. The soldier stands atop a marble pedestal with relief portraits of generals Lee, Polk, Jackson and Johnston on each side. Two stairs lead up to the memorial's granite foundation.

Remarks:
The memorial marks the mass graves of 600 Confederate soldiers and was erected by the Ladies Benevolent Association of Louisiana.
