Description:
Beach landscape depicting a young peasant woman seated on the sand with her body leaning against a hay cart, her head turned to the left, the right arm resting on top of the cart, and her right hand holding rosary beads in her lap. She stares off to the left, seemingly lost in her thoughts. She wears french peasant attire including a white cap and wooden shoes. Nearby two similarly dressed peasant women stand on the beach watching the young woman. In the background, fishermen pull their boat ashore.
