    A winged man stands on a tall shaft in the center of a large circular fountain. The fountain contains eighteen birds mounted on slender rods.

    Remarks: 
    Commission sponsored by the City of Dallas through the Love Field Monument Competition. Donated by Mr. and Mrs. Leo F. Corrigan. Renovated in 1989. Gibson A. Danes and Donald B. Goodall's publication gave the media of the shaft as granite; Save Outdoor Sculpture survey reported shaft media as red marble. The work used to have a plaque that stated: SPIRIT OF FLIGHT/DONATED BY/THE/LEO CORRIGAN FAMILY/1960.
