    Description: 
    African-American male and female figure each stand on their own round base. Their skin is painted black and their lips are red. Both wear hats with red hat bands and both have their arms folded in front of them. The male is bare-chested and wears trousers and the female wears a long dress. The clothing on both figures is mosaic.

    The sculptures were acquired by the Cornucopia Art Center from the 1877 Peterson Station Museum about 1995. The Peterson Museum had received the sculptures from the estate of Roberta Tew in Oct. 1992.
