    Description: 
    A large red apple molded out of concrete with a green stem and leaves made of steel. The sculpture rests on a tapered column with a stepped bottom. The sculpture is enclosed by a cast iron fence and surrounded by bushes.

    Remarks: 
    Sculpture was a gift from Southern Railway commemorating the area's thriving apple industry. The sculpture was constructed in Winchester, Virginia, and Southern Railway undertook erection of the pedestal and placing of the apple. IAS files contain related excerpts from Mary L.
