Description:
A pair of monumental wrought iron gates at the entrance to the Packard Building are decorated with an overall design of squares within squares. At the center of each square is a flower surrounded by a ribbon and scroll work. Additional Samuel Yellin metalwork on the Packard building include two large sconces that flank the entrance.

Remarks:
The Samuel Yellin gates and other metalwork on the Packard Building were initiated by the Pennsylvania Company, now known as Cores States Bank. Originally, the Packard Building had metal grilles that were designed by Samuel Yellin, but the grilles have been removed. For additional information see Penny Balkin Bach's "Public Art in Philadelphia," Philadelphia: Temple University Press, 1992, pg. 110, 216.
