    Remarks: 
    The new recreation center was designed by the architectural firm of Marquis Associates. The landscape architects were Omi Lang and Associates, and the general contractors were Echo West Inc., under the supervision of the Department of Public Works, Bureau of Architecture, and the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. The overall cost of the project was $5.8 million and funding was made available through annual allocations from the City's Open Space Program, as well as grant monies from the State Park Bond Act. IAS files contain a related article from The Progress, May 4, 1988, pg. B4; and a proposal for the sculpture by the artist. IAS files contain a copy of the minutes of the Visual Arts Committee's Dec. 9, 1987 meeting.
