Description:
A bronze eagle with wings spread alights on a large granite boulder. A plaque on the front of the boulder bears a bas-relief of the town seal. The plaque has a bas-relief decorative border of foliage.

Remarks:
The memorial was given to the town by Caroline A. Fox of Arlington, MA and Hillsborough. Plaques honoring Civil War dead and a World War Honor Roll are mounted on the wall of a nearby building. IAS files contain transcriptions of these plaques including the names listed on them. IAS files contain copy of related article from Hillsborough Messenger, Aug. 28, 1930; and copy of related excerpt from David Ruell's unpublished manuscript "The Public Sculpture of New Hampshire", Concord: New Hampshire Historical Society, 1980, pg. 217-218.
