    Remarks:
In 1978, "La Colomba" was selected from more than fifty sculptures submitted to the Columbia Arts Council. The sculpture was to be placed in Guitar Square Park. The front patio of the Columbia Public Library provided a temporary home, but public admiration of this placement led the city and the Board of Trustees of the Municipal Library District of Columbia to agree to permanent residence. In November of 1982, a concrete base with special lighting was installed. Funding was provided by the Missouri Arts Council ($20,000), private funding ($10,000), Boon County Community trust ($5,000), and the City of Columbia ($5,000). One states the piece is approximately 2,500 lbs. and the other states it is approximately 6,000 lbs. IAS files contain a handout from the Columbia Public Library and two articles from the Columbia Daily Tribune dated July 17, 1978 and July 18, 1979.
