    Description: 
    A standing figure of a Native-American male taking a step with his proper left foot and leaning forward slightly. His proper left arm is raised to his forehead, shading his eyes as he looks into the distance to his proper right. In his proper left hand he holds several arrows. His proper right hand hangs at his side and holds his bow. He is bare chested and wears only a loincloth. An animal skin hangs from his waist and tucked into his waistband is a stone tied in leather. He wears moccasins which tie above his ankles and there is a feather at the back of his head. On the base behind the figure is a separate bronze element representing a plant growing out of the stone base

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was a gift of Peabody Institute Trustees. It was made for the St. Louis Exposition of 1915 and was the first sculpture installed at Clifton Park, the former estate of the Baltimore benefactor, Johns Hopkins.
