Inscription:  ERECTED BY CLARK County Ohio - 1869 Description:  A full-length figure of a standing Union soldier of the Civil War atop a tall stone base. He holds his hands before him on the butt of a reversed rifle, the barrel of which rests on the ground. The soldier wears an overcoat and a kepi. A. Bailey. The monument was formerly located in Springfield's Memorial Park, but was moved to the GAR Mound at Ferncliff Cemetery sometime after 1909.
