    A figure of a World War I infantryman advancing through the stumps and barbed wire of No Man's Land. He holds a rifle in his proper left hand and a grenade in his raised proper right hand.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was presented by the Henry County chapter of the American War Mothers in honor of Henry County's World War heroes. The inscription on a bronze plaque on the rocks in front of sculpture reads: ERECTED BY/HENRY COUNTY CHAPTER/AMERICAN WAR MOTHERS/IN HONOR OF/THE BOYS FROM THIS COUNTY/WHO SERVED DURING THE/WORLD WAR/1917-1918. IAS files contain newspaper articles from the New Castle Times, August 24, 1929 and The Courier-Times, Oct. 1, 1970, pg. 22.
