Inscription:  (On front of base, incised:) ERECTED/UNDER THE AUSPICES OF/THE LADIES OF THE/G.A.R./AND A PATRIOTIC/PEOPLE/6.13.1908 (On lower front of base, raised:) G.A.R. (On back of base, incised:) ROSTER/POST No 149 DEP.OF NEB/COMANDER (sic) E.C. COLEMAN/(List of ten names follows) (On lower back of base, raised:) 1861-1865 (On side of base, incised:) (List of 17 names and ranks) (On other side of base, incised:) (List of 12 names and ranks) unsigned Description:  A figure of a mustached male soldier, dressed in a military uniform consisting of a waist-length jacket, a wide-brimmed hat, a sash, trousers, bayonet, ammunition pack, and boots, stands at parade rest against a tree stump at his proper left side. The soldier holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands; the butt rests in front of his proper right foot. The figure is placed atop an inscribed multitiered base.
