Description:
A figure of a mustached male soldier, dressed in a military uniform consisting of a waist-length jacket, a wide-brimmed hat, a sash, trousers, bayonet, ammunition pack, and boots, stands at parade rest against a tree stump at his proper left side. The soldier holds the barrel of a rifle with both hands; the butt rests in front of his proper right foot. The figure is placed atop an inscribed multitiered base.

Remarks:
The monument was erected under the auspices of the ladies of the G.A.R. and "a patriotic people." IAS files contain a partial listing of names that appear on the base. Cost $500.
